This afternoon we took Thomas on his first real hike. We went to Clingmans Dome. At the top it is 6,643 feet and then you go up another 54 feet to the visitor observation tower. From there you can see approx 100 miles and 7 states. This is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was a fairly short hike but extremely steep! It was only 52 degrees at the top today. That's hard to believe for July around here. But I am loving it! It's always about 20 degrees cooler in the park than it is back in town.
Thomas told us his favorite part was climbing on the rocks!
your pics are great! the last time i went up there i was sweating and hurting at the same time, and it's not that bad of a hike. i'm in bad shape, but you make it look super easy!!!!
