Happy 50th Birthday Uncle Jeff

This evening we celebrated Uncle Jeff's 50th Birthday with him, it was a surprise, and we all actually kept it a secret! We celebrated at Calhoun's in Pigeon Forge.

Sleepover!

Last night we had Grayson over to spend the night for the first time...Thomas has stayed with him a couple of times before and loved it but last night was Grayson's first time staying with us. These boys played hard. I was a little concerned he might start missing his mommy at bed time and want to go home. But no, not so much! He never even mentioned that. As a matter a fact when I tried to lay down with them, they told me they thought they got to sleep by themselves and sent me on my way! I couldn't believe that coming from two boys that still sleep with their momma's on a regular basis.

Then today we went swimming

And had snacks by the pool!

These two are growing up so fast! I am glad they have remained so close, they have always called each other brothers. I have cracked up listening to the back seat conversations going on today...After they watched the Dragon Movie last night they were playing dragons this morning and Grayson told me that I needed to take them to the zoo so they could see some "real dragons". Thomas says..."Grayson dragons aren't real"..but Grayson says "Yes they are Thomas" And there was no convincing him otherwise so Thomas finally just went along with it.

Grayson was also telling us all about King Kong the huge "Barilla" I had forgotten how funny four year olds are, especially a four year old with a very vivid imagination!

10 Months Old

 

Tyler you turned 10 months old on Friday, July 22nd which was also your Daddy's Birthday!

What are you up to these days?

• You weigh 21 lbs and a couple ounces...not 100% haven't weighed you in a few days
• You still wearing size 3 diapers but I am buying size 4 now, you wear 12 months clothes but I have started buying you a few 18 months as well.
• You are eating about the same as last month, we are still introducing a few new table foods to you, and you are starting to eat lots more things from our plates too. You are starting to use a sippy cup some. You are very partial to fried potatoes and sweet tea! (now that's a kid after my own heart right there)
• You now have 7 teeth, 4 on the bottom and 3 on top.
• Your sleeping habits...ummm, not so good kiddo! I have embraced the idea that a full nights sleep isn't really all that important. To be honest though it is improving but we aren't there yet. I am looking for about 12 hours from you please!
• You took your first vacation this past month, we went to the beach. You have now felt the sand between your toes and waves splashing on your feet. You love the water...pool, lake, river, ocean, bath tub...Whichever!
• You got your third haircut...I love your hair, its so cute and thick, and curly.
• You crawl really fast...you pull up on everything you can get your hands on, you walk from one end of the couch to the other as long as you are holding onto something, you seem to want to walk so bad but just haven't hardly gotten it yet. Won't be much longer I am sure.
• You have officially outgrown your infant car seat and have moved on to a big boy seat, you were hanging out of the old one in every direction. You are much happier riding in the new one!
• Thomas picked out the new pj's for you, They are just like some he has and he thought it would be very cool for you guys to match!
• I can't believe your first birthday is right around the corner.

Another peaceful day at the river...

We decided that the river was so nice on Saturday we should go back again on Sunday and make an entire weekend of it. Tyler decided it was really a bit cold for his taste but he loved sitting right by it and playing with the rocks.

And eating sticks...and he didn't mind the cold water at all!

Thomas is always up for playing in any kind of water! He just loves being outside no matter what he is doing.

Tyler and I spent most of our time playing this fun little game called "how many rocks can mommy dig out of my mouth before I choke on them" 

It really was a very relaxing way to beat the heat this weekend and spend time with great friends!
