Here's some pics from Bible School a Couple Weeks Ago

It's Been a very long and tough couple weeks...

Since my last blog entry we have spent almost every single night at the hospital. Titus' mother (my mother-in-law) has been very ill for many years but much worse in recent weeks. Week before last we dropped Thomas off at Bible School each night then stayed at the hospital till time to pick him up. Then as things made a turn for the worse she was moved to ParkWest where we also were most every night...she passed away on Thursday evening after a very long struggle. It was extremely hard to watch her suffer but even harder to let her go.

We have been very blessed to be surrounded with such supportive and kind friends and family, and are very thankful for all the calls, visits, cards, flowers, food, love, and generosity.

I will be sharing in the next few days some of the kind words people wrote about Peggy and gave to us as we were putting together a memorial service in her honor. The response was overwhelming, so many people had so many memories and stories to share. It is so obvious that she was truly loved by all who knew her.

Thank you all so much and check back in a few days for photos and stories shared in Peggy's honor.

Tonight was the first night of Vacation Bible School at our church. Thomas had a great time. He can't wait to go back tomorrow. Pic's coming soon!

Day at the Lake

We spent the day Saturday on the lake with our friends. Thomas & Daddy swimming together.

This is as far as Thomas got on the sun deck. He wasnt too sure about going any further.

It took Jillian a second to warm up to swimming in the lake. But then she did great with her Daddy.

My Niece Kaleigh is here from Ohio visiting for a few days. I can't believe she is in high school now. I used to pick her up from pre-school! Oh I feel really old!

I think all kids love Kaleigh. Wish she lived here. We would have a fantastic babysitter!

Girl's Night Out

Friday I went to Girls Night Out. It was good times for sure! Loved seeing some of my old pals and hanging out like old times.

Hiking to Clingmans Dome...

This afternoon we took Thomas on his first real hike. We went to Clingmans Dome. At the top it is 6,643 feet and then you go up another 54 feet to the visitor observation tower. From there you can see approx 100 miles and 7 states. This is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was a fairly short hike but extremely steep!

It was only 52 degrees at the top today. That's hard to believe for July around here. But I am loving it! It's always about 20 degrees cooler in the park than it is back in town.

Thomas told us his favorite part was climbing on the rocks!

Camping Day at PreSchool....

Thomas had camping day at his school today. As he proudly told me all about it, I snapped a few pics of him. He said they had story time in a tent, used there flashlights to look at shadows, and got to take a naps in there sleeping bags. He had a great day!

Celebrating the 4th with Fireworks, Food, & The Flynn's

We celebrated the 4th with our good friends "The Flynn's" they fixed some wonderful food & the kids had a great time playing together, then we watched tons of fireworks.

Uncle Michael visits...

As soon as my brother got into to town for the holiday weekend he came right over to visit Thomas. They are big pals! Thomas loves to play with his Uncle Michael.

We call them "Firecrackers"

It has become a tradition for Thomas & I to take Pretzel Rods & Dip them in White Chocolate and cover with festive sprinkles, Red, White, & Blue of course! We call them Firecrackers! And he takes them to his July 4th celebration at daycare every year! The kids all love them. And they are pretty cute. Plus its something that He & I enjoy doing together.

We decided to try something a little different this time too...check out these marshmallows on a stick! Pretty Cute...and delicious!
