Kindergarten Program and Graduation

 Tonight was Thomas' kindergarten program and graduation. The theme was mother goose nursery rhyme party and Thomas' class performed Old King Cole. They were so cute and did a great job. The boys dressed like Kings and the girls were Queens as you can see!

 During this part of the program Thomas was being awarded a gold medal for completing the 100 word club and becoming a reader this year!

 After the program we surprised Thomas with a special dinner at The Brewery (one of his favorite dining spots) to celebrate this year and his accomplishments. He even got balloons, a cake, and some gifts! He was eating up being the guest of honor!

 His Nana and Pa got him his very own baseball bat, with ball and glove! (this is something he has been asking for every since the church softball game a few weeks back)

 Thomas was really giving out the hugs tonight!

 

 Grandmom and Grandaddy gave him a cap gun and pistol set! Also a very big hit!

 And his present from us...a leaf blower...yes a real gas powered leaf blower! This kid has been begging for one of these forever!!! And he and his daddy worked out a deal a very long time ago that if he did really good this year and did all his homework and learned to read that he could have his very own leaf blower for kindergarten graduation! This kid would rather work than eat. He cannot wait to start using it! Titus assures me this will be safe for him to use under supervision...I sure hope so!

 And even though it was late and past bed time when we got home of course Thomas wanted to try out everything he got...We made a deal to try just ONE thing...and seeing as how there is no way I was running through the yard chasing a baseball in the dark and for sure not cranking up a leaf blower going to the porch to play with the new cap gun seemed to be the best choice. I thought he was going to loose his mind when he saw real sparks and smelled gun powder when he fired his new little pistol and shotgun! He thinks he is big time now for sure!

 He made sure to tell me he was the fastest gun on Eledge Lane!

 Here is Tyler being a supportive Brother...he hadn't had a decent nap all day so we couldn't believe he held up for all the festivities but he did! Like a pro...even for dinner! Maybe he'll sleep all night. Lord knows he has surely got to be tired enough!

I am so thankful for such a great evening celebrating my little punkin with the best friends and family anyone could ever ask for!

8 months old

Tyler Patrick you turned 8 months old on May 22nd

What are you to these days??

• You weigh 18lbs and 8oz as of your last doctor visit.
• You still wear size 3 diaper and 12 months clothes
• You are eating about the same as last month you have tried a little new table food, mashed potatoes with gravy and some homemade ice cream. Of course you loved it. You like it when I take my straw and let you suck on the end of it to get a little sip of my drink. You now think you are suppose to eat every time anyone else is, and you reach for our food as if you are begging us to feed you what we are having.
• You are sleeping much better again. Some nights you still wake up once for a bottle but more nights than not now you are sleeping all night again! Wheew...you were really wearing me down there for bit with waking up every 2-3 hours like a newborn. Hopefully we are back on the right track again!
• You had your very first haircut this month, and it was much needed!
• You have been such a happy boy lately. You really like to just play in the floor with toys that light up and make music and you love to jump more than anything. You have a million dollar smile, and your dark brown eyes just shine so bright they can light up a room. You laugh out loud at your brother all the time when he makes silly faces and claps his hands for you. He loves it as much as you do! 
• While you are siting in our laps now you are all over the place climbing and trying to get in the floor, you try your hardest to get down and get on your feet like you are going to just take off walking. You aren't crawling yet but you scoot around mostly backwards. And you love to stand up while holding on to our hands or to a foot stool or something. You aren't really on the go yet but I have a feeling it won't be very long at all.

Four wheeling trip...

Sunday afternoon Grandaddy and Thomas hooked up the trailer to Granddaddy's truck and loaded up their four wheelers for a four wheeling adventure on one of Granddaddy's friends farms...Thomas had a blast, he has been telling us all about it all

He told me his favorite part was riding in the mud!

Feeding a baby calf...

Grandaddy's neighbor Richard has been taking care of a new baby calf that lost its mother and so Grandaddy worked it out for Thomas to get to go with him and help feed it...Thomas said this baby's bottle was way bigger than Tyler's. Grandaddy works out some really good field trips!

Tyler's First Haircut

On Saturday Tyler got his first real haircut and it was LONG over due. He had more hair cut off his head than most babies have till they are 2 or 3 years old. He sat in my lap and did great! Thomas got his cut first, and then Tyler followed. Grandmom was there to take some pics! Titus was working stand-by but he got to make a run through in between getting called back into work too, so it was a family affair.
 

Here is Tyler with our friend and favorite hair stylist, Keya...She has been cutting Thomas' hair since he was about 2 years old. She has always been so great with him, and Thomas was her very first customer when she started cutting hair so we had to have her be the first to do Tyler's since she is such a special friend!

Great Day at Home with the kiddo's...and some spilled milk!

I love this kind of day...sunny and warm outside, got lots done around the house including some major laundry that had been piling up from the weekend...spending time with my kiddo's (I will confess they were at school and daycare for the first half of the day though) even had time to make a fresh pitcher of iced tea and we were just hanging out enjoying the day waiting for Titus to come home from work.
 

Jumping is one of Tyler's favorite things to do right now!

Thomas got to spend some time this afternoon scrubbing the carpet in his bedroom...Apparently he took chocolate milk to his bedroom yesterday, starting spilling it about the time he walked in his room and left a chocolate milk trail all the way across his bedroom, then sat the bottle down in the floor and left it, left it so long in fact that the milk bottle was stuck to the carpet...NICE surprise to find!!! So he had a fun filled hour of scrubbing carpets till his arm hurt...but he actually took it pretty well...I don't think he will forget he isn't allowed to have drinks in his room again for at least a couple days :) Oh the joys of motherhood!

He was happy to be finished with that little chore!

Mother's Day

I had a very blessed Mother's Day. We started the day with Tyler's baby dedication at church, and then we had lunch with the whole family. I am so thankful to have been able to spend the day with my Mother and Grandmother and my whole crew! My boys were so good to me! I am so thankful to be their mommy!

The Zoo

Thomas had his first Kindergarten field trip today. It was at the Knoxville Zoo.

Bryson, Thomas, and Dante were "buddies" for the day

 I finally got to meet Thomas' girl friend, she came up and introduced herself to me. She said, "Hello I am Layla, I am Thomas' girlfriend have you heard?" I told her "yes I had heard something about that". I told Thomas she was very cute an very sweet. Thomas said "yes I know mom, that's why I picked her for my girlfriend". Every time these two caught a glimpse of each other through the course of the day they had go see one another.

I am very thankful for the chance to spend the day with my boy! He loved seeing all the animals.
