Shopping for Wedding Dresses

This past weekend Kim asked her Mom, Jill, and I to go Wedding Dress Shopping with her.

She tried on lots of beautiful dresses

and they all looked great on her...

and a dress for her Matron on Honor... me :)

We had a great day together and Kim did buy a gorgeous dress. We didn't buy any of the dresses that you see though...I am not allowed to post those till after the wedding of course. But if you think these dresses look great on her just wait till you see "The Dress" !!!!

Getting ready for hunting season

This summer Titus and Thomas have had a little project going. They built a big tree house to hunt from. Grandaddy & Papaw Jack are checking it out.

They have been planting some trees today.
Thomas is very excited.

Check out Grandmom & Gradaddy's newest visitors...they had 2 black bear cubs roaming through the yard this weekend.

Zac Brown Band Concert

Thomas' 1st Concert...

We took Thomas to see the Zac Brown Band in concert last night. He loves this band.

He knows every word to every song on the Foundations Album.
He did enjoy the concert but got a little restless at the beginning until they started singing the songs he knows. He was dancing and singing along the whole time after that though until he finally got so tired he couldnt hold his eyes open anymore and he fell asleep in my arms. He has been talking about the concert all day today. He's so funny!

The concert was suppose to be at the World's Fair Park but due to weather was moved to the Civic Coliseum. I'm glad because we would have been soaked but I do think this would have been better as an outdoor concert!

We spent the afternoon decorating for Halloween, and it seems our Halloween decorations have been multiplying over the past few years.

The Pumpkin Patch Parable

The Pumpkin Patch Parable by Liz Curtis Higgs is one of mine & Thomas' favorite children's books to read this time of year. The moral of the story is that Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff--including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. Then he carves you a new smiling face and puts his light inside you to shine for all the world to see. Thomas' day care teacher shared this story with them several years ago on a day I was able to be their for a fall celebration and it touched my heart. We bought the book and have been reading every since. If you have a little one I would definitely recommend this book.

Spending time with Grandaddy

The Fair

Who doesn't love the Fair? It doesn't get any better than your hometown fair. And of course we had lots of Candy Apples, Popcorn, Hot dogs and dinner at the Methodist Church Booth. We ran into lots of old friends and it was good times! Thomas met up with his old friend Kylee who he hasn't seen in a very long time, they were so cute, they greeted each other with a hug and they rode several rides together. They were so happy to see one another.
